Lawmakers from both political parties are praising the news that the leading health organization in the U.S. is suggesting marijuana be rescheduled, especially from long-time supporters such as Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) have proposed new legislation.
John Fetterman (D-PA) and Representative Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) have come up with a new draft law. Representative Dave Joyce of Ohio is proclaiming partial responsibility for the progression of cannabis which was duly declared by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announcing its support of changing the drug to a Schedule III status under the Controlled Substances Act. This announcement has been warmly received by numerous U.S. lawmakers including those in the cannabis industry, as they soon will weigh the broader effects of the drug’s new classification. Senator Fetterman has said that he has been promoting significant developments about marijuana reform for a long time. He noted this in a declaration on Thursday. Around twelve months ago I talked to President Biden in Pittsburgh to ask that he and his governmental team take some action concerning cannabis policy. Yesterday’s action taken by the Biden administration is a great success and a strong indication that their approach to marijuana policy is in the right direction. I’m pleased to see that they agree with what has been established for some time- cannabis should not be classified as a Schedule I drug. -Senator John Fetterman (@SenFettermanPA) August 31, 29. He mentioned that the previous day’s action was a great accomplishment for the Biden team and an encouraging move for cannabis laws. I’m pleased that the government is in line with our understanding that cannabis should not fall under the classification of a Schedule I drug.
